This has been the biggest development period in OneGovs' history. Over the past six months, we've shipped five entirely new modules and significant upgrades to the core platform. Here's everything that's changed.
Governor Self-Service Portal (New)
The most requested feature in our history is now live. The Governor Portal gives every governor a personal, secure view of their governance role — without requiring a full platform login.
Through the portal, governors can:
- View their current appointments and committee memberships
- See upcoming meetings and access meeting papers
- Check their training status and access training resources
- Participate in a discussion board for their governing body
Access is via a simple, passwordless one-time passcode (OTP) sent to the governor's registered email. No passwords to remember, no accounts to manage — just secure, instant access to the information they need.
File Management (New)
You can now upload, organise, and share files directly within OneGovs. Documents can be categorised, tagged, and linked to specific governing bodies, meetings, or governors.
Key capabilities include:
- In-app PDF viewing — no need to download files to read them
- Secure external sharing with configurable access controls
- File organisation by category, governing body, and meeting
- Version tracking for documents that are updated regularly
Ofsted Inspection Tracking (New)
A dedicated module for logging Ofsted inspections, recording judgements, and generating inspection history reports. Each academy's inspection record is linked to its governance structure, making it easy to see the full picture when preparing for inspections or reporting to the trust board.
Data Retention & GDPR (New)
Governance data retention is now built into the platform. Trusts can:
- Set configurable retention policies by data type
- Run dry-run previews to see exactly what would be affected before any deletion
- Reset to default retention periods recommended by sector guidance
- Maintain a full audit trail of retention actions for GDPR compliance
My Diary (New)
A personal activity timeline for every platform user, showing upcoming meetings, recent actions, pending tasks, and key dates. Think of it as a governance-focused personal dashboard that surfaces the most important information without requiring navigation through the full platform.
Training Course Management
The training module has been significantly expanded. Governance teams can now:
- Create and manage training courses within the platform
- Track attendance with filterable, exportable attendance lists
- Link training to specific governing bodies and compliance requirements
- Generate training completion reports for Ofsted evidence
Platform Upgrades
Under the hood, we've upgraded the core platform to .NET 10, Angular 21, and PrimeNG 21. These aren't visible changes, but they ensure OneGovs continues to run on supported, secure frameworks with the latest performance improvements.
